Gift of Stock
Charitable donations of appreciated stocks is a great way to give. Donors pay no capital gains taxes on the gift and qualify for a charitable tax deduction for the full fair market value on the date of transfer. For stock owned more than one year, you may be able to deduct up to 30% of your adjusted gross income (discuss with your financial or tax advisor).
