Workshops Overview
Please click the links to discover what our musicians can offer your students in a workshop setting. All programs can be adapted to fit the needs of your students and are only limited by the restrictions of your school. If you are interested in a particular musician, it is best if you work together with this teaching artist to shape and design the workshops so that your students receive the maximum benefit. Our musicians are incredibly talented but they do not have the personal relationships with the students that you have.
Workshops can be offered in a single session or a sequence of programs spaced close together or stretched out throughout the school year. A sequence of workshops that are scheduled close together and build upon each other can be set up similar to our residency programs. Please visit this area to gather additional information, or contact Musicopia’s Program Director to discuss your needs.
All of Musicopia’s teaching artists enjoy working with both dedicated music students and students who have little or no musical background. Workshop content for non-music students tends to be based on the content of our assembly programs in a format that offers a more in-depth experience to a smaller core group, and tailored to the curriculum of the participating grades.
Workshops are organized on a case-by-case basis and are not limited to what you see in these descriptions, which represent a sample of our most popular workshops. Whether you teach preschoolers or a class of fourth graders, lead a big band, a marching band, a full symphony orchestra, a chamber group, a concert band, or a small jazz combo, Musicopia’s musicians have something to offer you and your students. Please feel free to call or email Musicopia’s Program Director to discuss which musicians will best meet the needs of your students.
