Carlos Rubio began his musical career as a member of Venezuela's Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra. He has been a guest faculty member at the University of North Texas, Denison University, University of Nebraska at Omaha and the SoundFest Chamber Music Festival, and is a member of the coaching staff for Princeton Chamber Music Play Week and the Dalí String Quartet Summer Camp.  Mr. Rubio was awarded grand prize in the Spanish and Latin American Music Competition at Indiana University and was distinguished as the Ohio Latino Arts Association\'s Performing Artist of the Year.

Mr. Rubio has soloed with the Middletown Symphony, the Illinois Philharmonic, and the Oxford Chamber Orchestra, and his chamber music partners have included the Colorado, Penderecki, DePonte and Amernet string quartets, pianist Pamela Mia Paul, and cellist Marc Johnson of the Vermeer Quartet.  Carlos is a founding member of the Dalí String Quartet and performs with the Poor Richard’s String Quartet, the Philadelphia Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, Peter Nero and the Philly Pops, the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra, the Pennsylvania Sinfonia Orchestra and the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra

Carlos joined Musicopia’s Roster of Artists in 2007 and performs with Auricolae’s Fairy Tales, Folklore and Fables assembly and residency.
