In Flamenco, the dancer doesn't follow the music, rather the musicians follow the dancer.

Flamenco guitarist Pew fellow Hipolito (Tito) Rubio and his wife, flamenco bailaora (dancer) Anna Arias Rubio, lead this vibrant ensemble, which is dedicated to disseminating the tradition of Spanish flamenco music and dance. Flamenco del Encuentro headlines shows in the Pennsylvania and New Jersey area, as well as performing in flamenco festivals throughout the east coast of the United States. They also have been involved in working with inner city children and giving workshops in area public schools for many years. The artists of Flamenco del Encuentro are all accomplished exponents of this complex and deep-rooted style of music from African, Middle Eastern, Gypsy (Rom), and Jewish backgrounds. Each member of the ensemble maintains an international performance presence, in addition to continuing to study the art form in Spain and in the United States.
Flamenco del Encuentro has been on Musicopia’s roster since 2007 and includes Tito Rubio (guitar), Anna Rubio (dance), Antonia Cruz Arias (vocals), Joseph Tayoun (percussion), Monica Herrera (dance), Cristian Puig (guitar).
