Volunteer Opportunities
- Special Events Volunteers
We are always in need of volunteers at our many special events. You can enjoy great events and support music education at the same time! Typical volunteer jobs at events include set-up, greeting guests, silent auction solicitation of gifts, silent auction coordination during the event, assisting musicians, and taking photographs.

- Program Observers
One of the most exciting aspects of working with Musicopia is seeing our in-school programs in action! Since our musicians conduct over 700 programs each year, we are always in need of Program Observers to attend school and community events to evaluate the quality and impact of our programs. Programs take place in the five-county Delaware Valley area and Southern New Jersey, so we can easily find a location that is near your home or work. The majority of programs last from 45 minutes to one hour, and Musicopia will assist you in obtaining the appropriate clearance forms before being placed in a school.
- Help With Mailings
Don't have much time but still want to be involved? Musicopia is always in need of assistance with special mailings. This involves only a few hours of your time every few months. The conversation, company and refreshments are always of the highest quality!
- Donate Your Professional Services
Are you able to provide professional services to Musicopia for free or at a discount? Musicopia can use your expertise!
- Organize an Instrument Donation Drive
There are students in underserved areas who have the talent to study music but do not have the financial means to rent or buy equipment. You can provide them with instruments to help them succeed. Here are the steps and key action areas to organize an instrument donation drive in your community:
- Contact Musicopia's Gift of Music Program Coordinator to discuss logistics and to start the process
- Decide where and when you would like to hold your drive. Provide this information to Musicopia, so we can post on our website.
- Identify drop-off location(s) that can store instruments in a safe and secure place.
- Advertise the drive - Place Musicopia's Gift of Music flyers and posters in local businesses, schools, places of worship, newsletters, papers, and any other high traffic areas. (Musicopia will provide you with customized flyers, posters and donation forms.)
- Ask all donors to complete the 'Instrument Donation Form' when an instrument is dropped off. This allows Musicopia to personally thank the donor for his/her donation and acts as a tax receipt.
- Contact Musicopia's Gift of Music Program Coordinator to arrange for instrument pick-up.
