Musicopia has just emerged from nearly a decade of unprecedented growth, becoming the largest out-of-school resource for music education on the East Coast. The breakdown of programs for 2007-2008 is as follows:

  • Musicopia presented a total of 703 concerts and workshops in 122 different venues throughout the Delaware Valley Region, serving 72,370 students, seniors, families, and community members.

  • By venue, there were 656 in-school educational concerts and workshops, five engagements in senior centers, 31 summer camp and orchestra rehearsals, and 39 community concerts.

  • By county, 39% of programs were performed in Philadelphia, 26% in Delaware, 18% in Montgomery, 11% in Chester, 4% in Bucks.

  • By constituency served, roughly 40% were African American, 46% Caucasian, 10% Hispanic, 3% Asian, and 1% Other. 50% of our audience was classified as low-income according to federal standards for free or reduced-price school lunch.
