Musicopia has just emerged from nearly a decade of unprecedented growth, becoming the largest out-of-school resource for music education on the East Coast. The breakdown of programs for the previously completed school year is as follows:

  • Musicopia presented a total of 876 concerts and workshops in 157 different venues throughout the Delaware Valley Region, serving 85,248 students, seniors, families, and community members.

  • By venue, there were 803 in-school educational concerts and workshops, 13 engagements in senior centers, 36 orchestra rehearsals, and 24 community concerts.

  • By county, 39% of programs were performed in Philadelphia, 19% in Delaware, 22% in Montgomery, 10% in Chester, 6% in Bucks, and 4% in Berks County (PA) and Southern New Jersey.

  • By constituency served, roughly 57% were African American, 35% Caucasian, 4% Hispanic, 3% Asian, and 1% Other. 90% of our audience was classified as low-income according to federal standards for free or reduced-price school lunch.
